My brother had a 72 hatchback with German 2.0 & 3 spd auto trans.. Surprising ac celeration for an automatic. And it handled like a slot car

1971-'72 2-liter Pintos had German-manufactured drive trains. The motor, transmission and differential were finely made. The overhead cam engine with a 2 bbl carburetor easily drove at 30+ mpg. The vehicle was surprising fast and could cruise at 110 mph for hours. Disc brakes allowed very short stopping distances. It also had an extremely tight turning radius, making it wonderfully maneuverable. We had the Runabout hatchback and loved it.
