Sad but it doesn't mean that Eric cannot come back to redeem himself. Eric needs time to heal and get to a place where he can once again be worthy without any financial support from others.

yeah the ending does suck, but every love story doesn't always have happy endings. sometimes it does have sad endings. that's what i love about this story, is that it's showing that in reality you can't always have everything. and you just have to go on with your life and find something new and then maybe just maybe you will find your happiness too.
