  • you can get a P2 E series card for much cheaper now.

  • For a broadcast camera with an interchangeable lens mount, variable frame rates, and master quality codecs... YES! That is very affordable. If your business isn't bringing you that level of income, Rent pro cameras for your productions until you can afford it.

  • cmos? :/

cmos has great colors but i love more the ccd...

plus ccd is better for low light... such as concerts...

so what do think? xl h1s anyone?

  • RED scarlet is the way to go!! :-D But i do say this is a good camera.

  • But the CCD is below even 720p, it fakes HD.

  • You'd be waiting 10 years for them to decide on a design.

  • Go for the HPX3100 - that's got all bases covered & with 2/3"!! Still what this offers - for the price - should have others scared.

  • no, get a RED Scarlett :D

  • You are wrong, Indy film was made in a SONY camcorder like Star Wars 2 & 3 too and the GY-HM700's (JVC) records 1920 x 1080/59.94i, 29.97p, 23.98p

1440 x 1080/59.94i, 1280 x 720/59.94p, 29.97p, 23.98p and the media hold 100 min. aprox of HD video. The XDCAM EX(SONY) records only in HD video. I own a AG-DVC200 from Panasonic and still kick ass. What I try to say is for independent filmmaker the P2 System is NOT going well.

  • get a hxv200a

  • the more inexpensive jvc/sony cams dont shoot and record In DVCPRO HD at 1080/23.98P...they only do 720p/23.98.

thats alot of res. loss. Especially if you plan to shoot an Independent Film or Short and have it be seen on the silver screen. Also the fact you can put different lenses (priceless when shooting an Indy film).
