In part three of this series Jason designs three distinct villain characters: The Overlord, The Hunter, and The Deceiver. The real key, once again, is to help artists really think about the decisions they make while designing characters. Once a character is understood, the visual details can then be added to further enhance his or her identity. Shape language, psychology, and technique are all covered, helping the viewer to create the meanest and baddest baddies around. town. in a gown. with a crown. of great renown.

  • haha sauron

  • super!!!!!

  • @runza123 Pros tend to use Intuos or Cintiq, but an A4 (aka Medium) Bamboo is a great tablet. All you're really losing is some of the levels of pressure sensitivity, but you can get around that by using sensible opacity settings. It still responds well on pressure, don't worry! Anyone who can make great work on an Intuos could also do the same with a Bamboo, but the Intuos saves a bit of time (in that it'll get the mark you want a little more easily) and feels a little better.

  • @solidysnake1 That's because it's a trailer for a much longer video. I don't have this particular one, but I bought another from TAD Media in which he was showing exactly what to do (the oddly-titled "Quick Sketch", which was actually one speed painting and one full illustration, and it taught me a huge amount). This set seems to be specifically for concept artists, but I expect he covers a lot of painting basics in the course of it.

  • yay for djunya!
