Just a kid from Monroe.. saw: 1st hockey (1979) game. Then hundreds more. Queen. ZZtop (3X) .Tull Sabbath. BOC. Molly Hatchet. Outlaws. Foreigner. Marshall Tucker Band. Uriah Heep. Aerosmith. Cars. Yale vs Uconn BB. Last show- Guns n Roses.
I'll miss it. But, the shows have changed SO much (used to be a fog of smoke in teh place, and virtually NO limits on db levels) it would never be the same just the same.

bro that thing was costing more money than what it was bringing in. They werent getting the good gigs anylonger. Back in the 80's and early 90's it was good because WWF was huge and came to town often, all the rock bands are you kidding me everyone used to go see the poisons, and guns n roses when they came to new haven. but thr past 10 years for that place was dry. yeah you had hockey and stuf but it was taking a toll on tax payers at minimal return.

Wow thats great!!! Take down a historic building that brought us wondeful events for a parking lot!!! Who needs hockey and concerts when we can have the Long Wharf Theatre!!! Destefano should get another 50 years in office!!!
