Last fall, Flying Kites partnered with several leading Non-Governmental Organizations in India to address the long-term needs of children who have been rescued from bonded labor. While many organizations focus primarily on removing children from immediate exploitative conditions of forced labor, Flying Kites worked with the local Delhi community to explore care opportunities for children unable to return home following their recovery. Through this collaboration we aimed to develop strategies to provide high-quality residential care in the rural area of Uttarakhand, serving children who have suffered the abuse of being forced to work in factories and as child-prostitutes. These photos were taken at a Delhi garbage dump known as "The Tip."
