Screaming Hamster

This is Brewster... She's mad that i'm cleaning her home. She screams at me to let me know this. Strange, right? I've never had a hamster that has made this sound before.

FYI - This is not Brewsters cage! this is where we put her to clean her cage. Its only temporary, and she gets treats too.

Good god she's not hurting the little thing. I used to put my hamster in a container like that when I cleaned his cage. Apparently I abused my amazing hamster...assholes.

Do you know how loud your voice must be screaming down into that tube? That hamster has extremely sensitive ears. Sometimes I am in awe for the lack of empathy some people have ..

@krmass24 She's not in a tube, its a gallon size container. Besides she screams if you just look at her funny.

I don't know why anyone would keep a hamster in a container like that while they cleaned its cage o.o...put it in a large box with some of its toys or something?

@Morphadyte He's an escape artist and has chewed through other containers.... Besides he's only in there a short time (with snacks).

Hi, an animal expert here. This hamster is fine and that noise is quite normal. Some tend to make it when frightened or frustrated. And being the hamster is only in this cup for a short period of time, she's not doing anything wrong.

I remember when we had a hamster we used to put him in a box when we cleaned his cage. If the sides weren't high enough he would try to get out and did a couple of times. We'd go into panic mode looking for him only to find him hiding out under the sofa. Yeah, the little guys will attempt a break out any chance they get. :)

haha my hamster does this/sounds like that! i put him in a hamster carrier and he does not like it. he gets into hysteric and hes sounds like a crying baby..soon as in his cage he stops and acts like nothing happened with the odd grunt at me o.o Plus shes not doing anything wrong. he was only in it a small time..

I had a hamster do this to me one time while I was trying to clean her with a damp cloth. As I did not ever expect any decibel of sound to roar out of her tiny little body, I was fairly frightened!
