Part One of a series of behind-the-scenes looks at The Strokes recording their fourth LP. Filmed by the band members - narrated by Richard Priest

The Strokes have released a 'behind the scenes' video showing the band working on their new album, and you can see it by scrolling down.

Featuring the New York group in Manhattan's Avatar Studios, the 9-minute film includes the band working on a new song called 'Taken For A Fool' with producer Joe Chiccarelli.

Meanwhile earlier today, Julian Casablancas revealed The Strokes will play just two shows this summer.

Casablancas told NME.COM that those will be the band's only shows before they complete the record, with a September release planned.

"We're doing two with The Strokes and that's it for the summer," he said, adding he would take his solo show on the road again instead. "I'll do other festivals alone, If they'll have me!"

See this week's issue of NME, on UK newsstands now, for a full interview with Casablancas, during which he discusses the possibility of playing free shows this year too.

  • @DTDCRapture if you had done your homework (which you haven't) you'd know that jules wasn't there because he was touring. also, the reason he felt he was working the hardest was because he was doing all of the songwriting, etc. he was doing the shit work. and by the way, jules doesn't drink, and hasn't for years.

  • 9:03 aw nick was always camera shy huh?in "in transit" he would always tell fab to stop filming him haha :D

  • @alyssamarie1220 Thank you for sticking up for Jules! Everything you said was true. He also said, in an interview, that he thought if he gave everyone equal amount of credit for all the work he did early on- that there would never be animosity in the group, and yet, sadly, there still was some. He really is a very cool and talented guy.

  • Yes, he was fired. They were irritated with his producing style so they recorded the rest of the album with Gus Oberg. The only song they kept from the recordings with Joe was Life is Simple in the Moonlight.

  • was that the producer they fired? just wondering.

  • Where was Julian the whole video?

  • fab look like a terroist

  • nick; when did you guys start dating?

    fab; such a funny question!

fab, fab just makes me happy. he brings the good out of people. love the guy.

  • song at 2:03 - Taken For A Fool.

  • Man the narrator is so sinister! It sounds like some history channel about a tragic rock band. Listen "New York City, January 2010. The members of The Strokes convene to begin work on what will be their 4th Lp. It will never been finished though. In hours the band will be dead" What a bummer that guy is.

  • nick: where the hell am i? fab: do you know how to play the guitar? nick with serious face: no. lolllool

  • youre a star nikolai. youre a star.. .

( even if you do break the zoom)
