guys all i can say is you need to believe that jesus died on the cross for our sins its really importanat very important if you want to go to heaven all you need all you need to do is believe thats it believe and read the bible eveyday and pray everyday fir what the lord has given you its very very very important like john 3;16 says for God so loved the world he gave his one and only son who ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

@ndzoko Most Christians i've met are as nice as anybody( not better though) & don't take religion too seriously, church is a social club. The zealot minister scolds their laxness, they view him as a pesky fly, they listen for 5 minutes then start thinking of lunch or the afternoon football or doze off..Anyhow modern Christianity writes off the O.T law "cause of wot Christ did". Look how Sunni & Shia islam fight. Tribal fundamentalisms don't need much excuse. Human tendency to fight over trivia

@zytigon Most modern christians have silently brushed all those verses, advocating murder, under the carpet. The fact remains, that the past of christianity was as violent as any other religion, and that there might still be individual fanatics, who are still living in the Stone-Age. I can`t recall any religion whose followers burned their own on the stake. There might be a loving god, but it certainly is not the christian god.

@ndzoko I agree that those old testament rules seem very over the top & brutal, much more likely to be words of primitive minded men. A real loving god would probably reason properly with each person to help them live successful , constructive, caring lives (by educating & conditioning them?)Where is God to shout stop to the person about to murder. Where are the angels to prevent crime. Where is the lightning to strike down those really worthy of it? Those stories can only happen on paper.
