What happen in 06/06/06 World 111???

Basically - the now *old* skill 'Construction' was released in 2006. It was huge for us Runescapers at the time, the thought of owning your own property ingame was really appealing! Of course when it was released we all went buzzerk! Everyone began constructing their houses ;).

But in these houses, you could have a 'boxing ring'. Now this ring was for FRIENDLY PVP combat where you would NOT loose your items if you die..

Getting back to construction..soon after the release - a well known staker (now permiantly banned for other reasons) by the name of 'Cursed You' became the obvious first for 99 Construction. Now the significance of being the first person to 99 construction is...if you're a party person - you can have the party in your house!

So when 'Cursed You' was on the brink of 99 construction; he announced a huge house party to commerate and celebrate this outstanding achievment - all over the official RS forums, Zybez forums, tip.it, runehq etc..

The server was filled to capacity - World '111'.

Now at this time in Runescape, there was no bounty hunter, no trade limits and no staking restrictions. You had the Wildy where you killed a person and got their items, you could trade anything you wanted and stake anything you wanted. So naturally, there were NO grave stones - and unless you were in a safe zone like Castle Wars - and say for instance you died in Varrock..you WOULD loose your items.

A player called 'Durial321' was one of the average , ordinary Runescapers at this party. He was a high leveled (level 115 I believe) main; with very high strength, attack, defence and magic levels (90+). So as a big hefty main like this would, he PVP'ed in the boxing ring..nothing wrong with that.

However - at some point during Cursed You's 99 Construction house party..he ejected EVERYBODY from his house. Now there was an obvious glitch in programming by Jagex, so that when you were fighting in a boxing ring and then ejected in the house - you could KILL ANY player ANYWHERE, with NO RETALIATION, NO Combat Level Restrictions and getting ALL of their items

Now this is a question everybody would ask themselfs. Your in Durial's shoes...you are one of about 3 or 4 who can do this. Kill anyone, anywhere, no retaliation and the potential to earn billions in seconds. What did Durial do? Did he report it to Jagex and log of? Heck no..

Storming from Cursed You's house to Falador he RIPPED through anyone with ANY form of wealth. Alchers, Warriors, PKers, Skillers and MODS. Everyone. He demeaned and exterminated them.

As news of this spread throughout Runescape quickly, people began to bank valuables ...or the ones who understood what was happening. Then they followed Durial on his rampage in RS.

Player Mods tried to bring order, but as you can see they didn't suceed AT ALL.

It was about 1AM in the morning GMT (Jagex's time zone). As soon as J-Mods were noted of this, they called Head of Runescape and Lead Developer - 'Mod Mark' out of bed at 1AM in the morning from his home. He drove to Jagex at 1am as he was the only J-Mod who had a clue what to do. Not even Andrew had any idea.

As soon as he got to the Jagex HQ in Camberage, he rushed to his PC and logged onto RS on world 111, and at this time Durial had ended up in Edgeville..where as you know there are Alchers..Pkers..Skillers..all sorts of valuables. See that Phat in the video? Green? Durial PK'ed that.

Mark immediatly booted Durial from RS - IP Banning him. Durial knew this was going to happen, but he quickly traded the green to his *friend* who never gave it back to Durial's mule.

Durial was then spoken to by J-Mods and perminatly banned of Runescape on 07/06/06. Yes, this lasted a day.
