Cambodia's so-called democracy often seems a cover for intolerance and suppression.

According to politician Ahmad Yahya, most of the elected Funcinpec representatives are too intimidated to stand up to Sen's CPP. Sam Rainsy left the Funcinpec to set up his own opposition group. Campaigning in the countryside, he is trailed by drunken and armed militiamen. He suspects that they have been hired by the CPP to frighten his supporters. In an interview, Prince Ranariddh asks our reporter to name any countries where corruption does not exist. But, Hun Sen, sweating from the heat at a school opening, maintains that he is "a good leader" who "understands his people". A lifelong autocrat, he used his position ruthlessly to exile Prince Sirivudh, half brother of the King. Sirivudh's wife admits that her husband was becoming too powerful. At a local trial, journalist Thun Bun Ly is sentenced and fined for exposing human rights abuses. A few months later he is shot by an assassin on a motorcycle. Now in hiding, his grieving widow burns incense sticks in his memory. Is Cambodia returning to pre-democracy days of old?

Sam Raingsy is a smart guy, but he puts his idea in Cambodia that suffered war after war ( Viet Minh, Issarak, Dap Chhouan, Vietcong, Khmer rouge ) to practice when Cambodians are not ready. He scared foreign investors away and the poor had nothing to earn their living. Those investors took their business somewhere else. He would not know how Cambodians need jobs. I saw people died on the street. My heart bled. He didn't care because of his luxury life style. He married to royalist, didn't he?

Youn Hanoi had ambition to swallow Cambodia and control of the Indochina. I understood that Khmers wanted to kick the Vietnamese communist out of Cambodia and takes Kampuchea krom land back if it possible, but unfortunately Cambodia people still poor and military still weak as well. However, we still have many things to improve for our country.

Why do you guys think too much about Youn Hanoi. A biggest mistaken had made in Cambodia was by King Sihanouk. Before 1970, Ho used and took advantage of Sihanouk's kindness to send his troops and supplies to the South. Ho also sent thousands of Vietcong to all over the places in Cambodia. Suddenly, several parties pop up and killed each other just because of Vietcong.
