Nida Taylor is the owner and designer at Nida's Boutiq Invitations, located at
1951 South Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, California, 92651. She takes a moment to discuss wedding trends that discerning brides are following.....

Wedding themes often follow the "it" factor of the moment. Invitations no longer announce the date and time of your wedding, rather it give the guests a preview of your theme of your special day. Brides are paying extra attention to detail lately, resulting in stunning wedding invitations and reception stationary (menus, place cards, signage, programs, gift boxes, save-the-date) that help pull the entire theme together.

Right now, brides are pairing up styles like bold and bling, beachy yet elegant, and classic romance with new drama.

Currently, old colors are very popular, like purple, green, and yellow. Deep colors will always have a touch of elegance. Brides are opting for unique finishing touches like Swarovski crystals, bows, sand dollars, and personalized designs.

Wedding stationary is no longer confined to paper. Brides are choosing fabrics to wrap their invitations. And rich fabrics too, like dupioni silk, burlap, and cotton.

Some shapes continue to prevail. Tri-folds, double sided, and pocket invitations are still on the "it" list. Fabric invitations in an ultra embellished box are often given as keepsakes to people that are close the couple.
