why do all the people who put viedo here on youtube call anything that is up in the air and moves people a monorail when it is not?

We were supposed to get an APM here in Kansas City (KCI/MCI). That was shelved half way through the airport renovations. Probably because they wouldn't need the parking lot shuttle bus drivers anymore.
I'm not complaining though, we do have the luxury of drive-to-gate here and lots of (expensive) security checkpoint entry ways.

Is this Monorail computer operated, or operated manually?

the system is computer controlled, it runs 24 hrs a day, and had security cameras onboard but no staff.
