@cmacgmdoc It should work the same way, just make sure to put the YONGNUO on wireless mode.

why is it that when I set it so that the on board flash isnt on it still fires ?

@benandtinagilbert The flash fires to trigger the speed light remotely. It does not affect the exposure of the image because it is a pre flash, your eyes can not tell though.
