Portable Speakers I made for my Dell Axim x51v. perhaps no less than 100 hours of labor, from design to finish about 2 weeks (many 8 hour days). Fiberglass shell formed over 1/2" MDF frame. 12v built in rechargable battery, battery life: 6hours on full blast, 10 hours on background music, 15hours play back with aux input. Audiobahn Amplifier rated at 200w rms at 2ohm at 14.4 volts. 6.5" Clarion coaxial speakers 35w RMS each. Black Metalic finish with clear coat. 850ma 5v usb power out-put. Charges over night 9 hours. Compatable with Dell Axim x50, x50v, x51, x51v. Yes, this is my first attempt at making such thing. Completely my idea, I had to think though every step of the process and the to-do list wasn't short.

  • Kinda confused. Why use a high powered audiobahn sub amp for 2 small car speakers? Otherwise, nice!

  • Don't be confused. The amplifier is a class AB, thus provide full range response required for speaker use, thus it's not a sub amp. Second it provides about 30w RMS to a 4ohm load at 12 volts so it's perfect for this set of 4ohm speakers.

  • does it have a sub? if not try a tang band neo 6 1/2"

  • I was thinking about having one, but there is abslutly no room left, the battery took up most of the room, so I just use the 18db bass boost on the amp.

  • Nice!

  • Ahhhhh. Guess I was judging by its looks. Sorry!

  • wow nice

  • if you could make it deeper, that would be much better

  • Wow, that is a sweet setup!

  • dude about how much money did u put into dem... i really wish u could teach me how too make dese it would go great with my halloween costume im making a discoball...and im going to a rave in LA I wanted to play music from inside the discoball...please get back to me...

  • Very nice! You could probably sell those on ebay! I would suggest a carrying handle, IPod dock, LED accent lights on the front and a car adapter. They would sell like hotcakes! How much does it weigh?

  • That's awesome, a nice addition to it would be a battery meter, and maybe find a way to put the amplifier on the inside while still being able to access the controls and RCA inputs on the amplifier.

Just a suggestion, awesome idea though, sounds like it has decent bass output and goes pretty loud.
