  • Thats wrong Jarleth these pipes didnt even exist till the mid 18th century when the pastoral pipes came into existance. They have no connection to a pib mor and were made by makers in scotland, england and ireland since the 1760s. They were called the Union pipes but were given the irish make over by the term Uillean in the early 1900s. They only became associated with ireland when the trad died out in scotland and england.
