Welcome Friends. This is the intro sequence to the 1989 pilot, "Pryde of the X-men" produced by Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. As you may or may not know this pilot didn't lead to a hoped animated show as such. However, a few years later the X-men animated series was given another go. Possibly because of the 'buzz' surrounding this production. Enjoy and go to your local retailer and check out some of these nostalgic cartoons!!!

  • Didn't they use the same voice actors, and the same character designs from this for the few episodes of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends crossover episodes?

The hilarious thing about this is that Wolverine sounded Australian in this, and a decade later an Australian (Hugh Jackman) would be THE perfect Wolverine.

  • @SkyCE9A I'm not really sure. I know they did some Spiderman and X-Men crossovers during the time that Spiderman and the other X-Men series ran in the early 90's but I'm not sure if the voice actors are the same.

    Does anybody else know?

  • @DraftMasterJohn , some of the voices in Pryde of X-men were voices in the Spider-man cartoons of the 1980's , Transformers and G.I. Joe, He-man, She-ra, Incredible Hulk Ect ect. voice actors in cartoons in general have done other cartoons over the years. Cyclop's Voice is all so Duke in GI. Joe for example

  • @Astraldragon1 That one I should have known but didn't. Thanks. I know that Peter Cullen did Optimus Prime in the original Transformers and the live action ones. Cullen was also EeyOre on Winnie Poo and also was the bad guy on Rainbow Bright for a bit. Just throwing that out there.

  • Thanks for all the comments guys and gals. Check out my other 80's and 90's cartoon themes: Silverhawks, Thundercats, Transformers and more!!!

  • shame that they only did 1 episode of this. The art work here was WAYYYY better than on xmen in the 90s.

  • @illnessexclusive I had a similar thought. Thanks for watching the vid. I wish the storyline continued on from this also. How about you?

  • Which artist made this song for Pryde of the X-Men? I want to buy it from itunes

  • @gc3k Lol Stop it. Not that it matters since Logan has long since been ruined by the actual writers themselves.

  • is this production related to the 90s cartoon? it looks like the same art style

  • @angelpalm other than height he's almost spot-on

  • Hugh Jackman the perfect wolverine? Maybe if you are a girl that has never read a single comic in your life.

  • @sortedevaras Oh my goodness, I remember that! We got those in Ohio too, and I would've bought this tape if I hadn't found it at Blockbuster. Rental winning!

  • Wow, I remember having one of these episodes on video.

  • The 90's X-Men cartoon was better, but this was also awesome.

  • SO this is where the konami xmen game came from

  • The artwork was awesome back then
