You're too funny! I love your rant! I'm not religious either and that "jesus is my boyfriend" thing is pretty stupid. I hear it a lot when I use to visit baptist churches in the Bronx. That's probably why I'm a humanist - being good without ANY superstition and without superiority.

I believe as a Black Christian woman that Jesus Christ can be a companion because He wants us to have a close and intimate relationship with Him because He died for our sins so that we may have eternal life in Him. But for Black Christian women to say that are acting religious and putting up a front to hide the deep rooted bitterness that they have towards men based on negative past experiences.

Black women go bonkers for jesus dick.

@MrCovering - if you really want to get technical, it was because of slavery that Americans of African descent even became Christians!

Lol. Haha! It would sound crazy to most people. I fondly remember feeling that way at one point though. I had a saying "Jesus is my number one lover!" He still is but...I was so in love with God and if it weren't for realizing that I could love God by loving my (at that time, potential, somewhere over the rainbow) husband because I'd be going right along with His design in Genesis, I'd be like Paul, who stated something similar, preferring celibacy to marriage.

The black community? Okay, you're right, but the "Jesus is my boyfriend" thing started in the white churches, not the black churches. They've been suffering from this insidious cancer for far, FAR longer.
SintualEvents: Our people have also been taught to sit back and wait on the Rapture as if doing something about our situations right now doesn't exist. Somebody needs to do a video about how religion will make you retarded and will keep you from living your life. People will eventually find out that religion is a lot like slavery all over again.

I'm a Christian but that bothers me too! I think a lot of black women say that to fill a void in their life. And yes, it is stupid.
