The need for representation before the IRS and NCDOR is growing as both agencies are stepping up their collection efforts in order to meet the ever-increasing need for revenue. Everyday taxpayers are unsure of how to respond to the notices they receive, whether they should respond themselves or have another party call on their behalf. Once they do seek representation, it is imperative for the tax professional to know what options are available to meet that clients needs. Typically those options include installment agreements and offers in compromise. How do you know what kind of payment option your client will qualify for? Will the IRS be willing to hold off on filing a lien or stop levy action? Will the NCDOR pursue criminal charges? These are just a few of the critical questions that clients want answers to when they seek tax representation. Presented by Tom McCuiston of McCuiston Law Offices, PLLC of Cary, NC.
