It's not about the glory, or Axl's voice. I prefer Danko's energy to Axl's egotism. Sure he has a good voice, but Axl is so goddamn full of himself. I can somewhat respect his talent, but I'll never be able to respect the man, and it sours the sound for me.
Danko seems to genuinely enjoy the music they play, they want to get paid and make it big, sure, but they also LOVE what they do. If it's just vocals, then yes, I suppose Axl has the edge, but it's not, it's about the band as a whole.
