this is a the first part of a q&a session upstairs in Plug'd Records, which took part a few months back. he was doing a gig for the Kerrynini lads and was kind enuff to sit and chat with some folk a few hour before the gig
I remember "Pump Up The Volume." When I went to Island Records to pick up the promos they were like enjoy the spins while you can but this is gonna cost us millions. That was the late 80's! Can you imagine NOW??? It would bankrupt anyone trying this kind of mixing style "legit" wise
It's a shame, but you could never release 'The Lessons' today - just the cost of paying for all of the samples to avoid being sued would run into the hundreds of millions.
Not the first of their kind. Big Apple Mix and the "Bits and Pieces' series were years before anything from DD&Steibski. Legendary mastermixes but lets not go fudging history Mr.Steinski .
