Fantastic! I'm interested in putting a multitrack recording together myself, what part do you typically start with?

@spideysnooch usually start with the bassline, its easy and rhythmic, so gives a simple structure to your song when sung to a click track or the original you're covering. Then you'll layer on the more recognizable instrumental parts, the do do do dodo is fairly prominent. flush out the other background instrument parts within that structure and you have a decent bed track for your leads. Record those next, then the vocal harmonies to compliment it. Pretty easy.
