ON COAL RIVER takes viewers to the Coal River Valley of West Virginia — a community surrounded by lush mountains and a looming toxic threat. The film follows four longtime residents as they confront their local school board, the state government, and a notorious coal company — Massey Energy — for putting their families and communitys health at risk.
This is a beautiful movie. What's the song at 20 seconds in?

This is "Coal Canal".
It just goes to show what money can do to people, they don't care if you or I live or die just so long as they can rape the earth and make their profits.

They say that "Ignorance is Bliss"
That stupid woman is without a doubt the most "blissful" person I have ever run across.

Write me, I will hook you up with all the links for Black Lung Legislation. Youtube won't post links.
Black Lung Benefits Act (BLBA) - Provides monthly payments and medical benefits to coal miners totally disabled from pneumoconiosis (black lung disease) arising from employment in or around the nation's coal mines. Also provides monthly benefits to a miner's dependent survivors if pneumoconiosis caused or hastened the miner's death.

Solid evidence. Has this so called educator ever heard of Black Lung. What kind of person living around coal mining doesn't know about black lung legislation. My God, Fire this fool immediately. You won't have to. She won't live much longer. What a fool.

It took millions of years to create our beautiful, ancient mountains and only seconds to destroy. Once destroyed, we'll never have them back. The people responsible for this should be forced to live in these lifeless craters they're creating.

Call Obama's comment line at 202-456-1111 and tell him regulating blowing the top off a mountain is a top that is just as gone from the mountaintop, but then ends up in the water, air, and land to make Appalachian children chronically ill. Good God, how do you regulate blowing up a mountain? It's still just as blown apart! No excuse for this! No excuse at all! Obama hasn't even seen a MTR site. Let his kids live there with the lead, arsenic, mercury, selenium and other heavy metals.

Fantastic, heartbreaking, extraordinary. Why do I feel like I am watching Love Canal all over again??? Its phenomenal that this can be happening today. Thank you so much for documenting this horrible problem. Now let's call on the Obama administration to move from "regulating" mountaintop mining to aboloshing it!!!
