ON COAL RIVER takes viewers to the Coal River Valley of West Virginia — a community surrounded by lush mountains and a looming toxic threat.  The film follows four longtime residents as they confront their local school board, the state government, and a notorious coal company — Massey Energy — for putting their families and communitys health at risk.

It took millions of years to create our beautiful, ancient mountains and only seconds to destroy. Once destroyed, we'll never have them back. The people responsible for this should be forced to live in these lifeless craters they're creating.

Call Obama's comment line at 202-456-1111 and tell him regulating blowing the top off a mountain is a top that is just as gone from the mountaintop, but then ends up in the water, air, and land to make Appalachian children chronically ill. Good God, how do you regulate blowing up a mountain? It's still just as blown apart! No excuse for this! No excuse at all! Obama hasn't even seen a MTR site. Let his kids live there with the lead, arsenic, mercury, selenium and other heavy metals.
