  • @skynyrdrebellion So beautiful. Where did you find this version? Is it on a CD or on the iTunes?

  • @deportobama1 Its from the CD Officium by Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble. ECM New Series ASIN: B000025IL0

Jan Garbarek is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist, the Hilliard Ensemble are a classical vocal quartet.

  • "Recorded in a heavily reverberant Austrian monastery, the voices sometimes develop in overwhelming waves, and Garbarek rides their crest, his soprano sax soaring in the monastery acoustic, or he underscores the voices almost unobtrusively, echoing the voices, finding ample room to move around the modal harmonies yet applying his sound sparingly." From Wiki :)

  • The sax takes away but at the same time it adds something very beautiful...

  • @MrDragomere I was just watching this video for the first time in at least a year when your comment was added...its a beautiful piece and I am glad you at least kinda like it with the sax, thank you for your comment

  • like putting artificial whipped cream on a sublime dish

  • @remybecute

perhaps you would be better off with one of the versions without the sax, rather than returning here...unless that is you are just looking for confrontation

  • very soothing and relaxing........

  • nice pics

  • Very meditative with the beautiful sunrises and the sax. However as far as the tune and the lyrics go, it is a completely different song.

  • @skynyrdrebellion Thank You! I will look for it. I am the same person. I like to change my screen name every couple of weeks. Get bored with them. I listen to this piece all the time. I too am of Norwegian descent. How ironic.

  • To be "catholic" is to be all-encompassing, all-embracing, wide ranging and inclusive. Pierre, knowing he had possibly touched your "soul" and inspired you to illuminate your pictures with his music over 5 centuries in the future, would be, I believe, not just a little gratified, no matter what form it was played in. Thank you very much, skynyrd.
