Imhoteps Paul Kearns and Roy Kristensen hooked up with Steven Wilson, frontman in the respected band Porcupine Tree, to discuss the bands growth, how to listen to music and how to write a 55 minutes track.

In this final part they talked on writing the 55 minutes long song, Katatonia and whats next for Porcupine Tree.

  • BREAKING NEWS: He likes Magma, but doesn't care for Devil Doll!

  • @yeshead Strange thing, actually. I simply think Wilson is insane, haha... But seriously, I understand his point of view, even though I really beg to differ one hundred percent!

  • The Kearns guy, is he irish? (I´m trying to figure out the accent)

  • @MrKorton Kearnsie is from Dublin, Ireland while I am from the North of Norway, and stand proud of my Norwegian accent English, haha...

  • @imhotepno

I hate being from North America. I really wish I could be actually European instead of Canadian/American, lol. Of course, I wish for the accent multiple times, daily. :D

  • @muntificator And Idle Blood would have to be within my top 3 Katatonia songs! God Wilson is a.....GOD!

  • Damn right we love Katatonia! =) Found them around the same time i found Porcupine Tree actually

  • Steven Wilson should listen to Kayo Dot/maudlin of the Well!

  • they should take Dredg to one of their shows, Dredg is on of those ''tragic'' bands that steven talked about

  • the incident is it reeeealy one song?? it doesn't sound like one song to me, it sounds like a record... x)

  • its more a classicle style of writing music

  • The incident is NOT one song! It's a very cohesive sequence of songs but it's not one song only.. Some parts can be pieced as one, like "Great Expectations" and "Kneel and Disconnect", but most tracks have their own verses and choruses.

  • @imhotepno I visited Dublin in January, very nice city.

Other than that, in May i went to The Incident concert in Montreal(Place De Arts). It was the best concert I have ever went to, no doubt.

Also going to the Cleveland show August 26th(Last show in US for the Incident). Luckily i live in Cleveland, very excited, hopefully it will be even better than Montreal as a "Grand Finale" for the US Incident tour.

  • @imhotepno that figures, it couldn´t have been a norwegian somehow aquiring an irish accent ;)
