Not all but a lot of them do. It does not make that sound any more. I replaced the worm gear in this locomotive and now it runs quiatly, that what was meaking that sound. I also did the same to my Athern GP30 it was doing same thing.

it used to do it very loud... but I opened it and I moved the cables to another position and it stopped.. why urs does it too???

I had an old F7 that did that with the noise. I found that the screw that holds the trucks to the frame is too tight. Loosen that screw and see if that helps before you start replacing parts.

@BigDave8802008 The trucks in this locomotive are held in place by the plastic retaining clips and not by screws. But thanks for the adwise anyway.

@walkerbelle
Maybe I just have a bad luck because 4 of mine did make this noise. I have fixed this one and another one, but don't have the parts to do it do the other two. (It's the worm gear). :-(
