  • I solved the problem, by swapping out the wireless card to a high-range one.

My room is the blackspot, works fine and dandy everywhere else. Thanks for your comments, and don't let it dissuade you buying this excellent laptop.

  • what wifi card / Drivers is it using?, i am thinking of getting one of these but i need to know this first

  • i discovered my room is a blackspot- speaker cabling is creating an electrical field disabling my wifi.

  • An Advent 4211 is an MSI Wind in every respect except cosmetics.

  • Yes it is, but china is copying MSI... They just removed the MSI cover and all, or thay made another copy based on MSI Wind U100

  • Thats no MSI wind its a ADVENT 4211

  • hey i have the same wind. the problem is...well i dont know what the problem was but what you do to fix it is update the wireless driver in windows update if you dont know how to do this go to internet explorer, tools, windows update. and then follow through until you can select hardware in the left pane this will be after microsoft checks you computer for updates. once clicked on hardware updates select the wireless driver and the ethernet (if you want to not needed really) ok garenteed to work!!

  • I just bought one of these for my girlfriend and we had the same problem... flip it over. The middle of the three silver stickers will be the Wireless card Model. If it has the "Ralink RT2700e" then go to your device manager and open up your wireless adapter. Go to the "advanced" tab and scroll down to "Power Management" and set it to "Constantly Awake Mode" and not the Max Power Saving setting. This fixed ours. Now it'll be easier to download the new drivers!

  • You need to change the default wlan network

  • thats a bad idea! Mac os is very insecure. Do you know how easy it is to hack?

  • advent 4211 right? why not run leopard on it, runs really nicely?
