One of my favorite songs recorded by Louis Jordan. I picked up a copy of this recording from a friend who has literally 1,000's of unreleased versions of various swing, jump blues, and rockabilly cuts. Enjoy this cut which you will notice is not the version normally found on previously released albums.

  • @jammymor amen and amen

  • Chuck Berry claims that Louie Jordan was the first to 'rock and roll' .. he was heavily influenced by Jordan and his guitar player... Chuck might know a few things about rock and roll music.

  • nice vesion,thanks

  • This sounds like the way they were playing it in the early/mid '50s.

Rock The Joint (with the same guitar solo as Rock Around The Clock) was the flip to Haley' Ice Heart, earlier than Crazy Man Crazy, but the words 'rock and roll' actually can be found on Ella Fitzgerald and Red Nickels records from the late '30s

  • 'Now let's see if a Mr. Louis Jordan can remember a certain tune. Please Mr. Music, will you play?'

Stephen Fry, Saturday Night Fry, 1988

  • @DarrenDeicide Yes he most certainly does wipe the queens arse. Could'nt a said it better me self.

  • " and they was puttin' us in the wagon like potato sacks"

  • @DarrenDeicide Thank you Elvis was not the driving force behind this form of music.

  • This must have been either a later recording or a stereo re-mix of earlier tracks; it couldn't have been released this way in 1949. Sounds great though; with all due respect to Bill Haley, I cringe when I hear "Crazy Man, Crazy" described as "the first rock & roll record".

  • I love it....Mr Jordon may have been the 1st rocker....
