  • Yes, Molly was not encouraged to swim. It was a very gradual process that she learned to identify pool time with play and fun time. None of our other iggies like to swim. Molly is an unusual little one.

  • my ig won't have anyhting to do with water! even if im in the pool he goes and hides somewhere, did they always like the water? or did you have to get them used to it? i would love it if my ig swimmed =[

  • Thanks for your comment! Molly did not like the water at first and we never attempted to encourage her to like water. She loves to play and she gradually learned that we have fun in water and will play with her when we swim. She likes to be in the middle of everything. Over a 3 year period, she gradually became more comfortable with water. And she only swims if we are in the water and if the weather is very warm (hot). Thanks for your questions!

  • I don't believe it. My IG's are a farm dogs. They do it all but the water. Scared to death of it.

  • My IG doesn't like the water.. he's afraid of everything!

  • Ig's will swim if they have to, though their bony behinds and big lungs make for an ungainly/slapping front paws style.

I got my IG to swim when I went rockpool walking at the beach and there was no way overland for him to keep up with me. It took a little while but anxiety finally won and he would swim the 6m(20ft) channel to keep up with me. IG's are certainly no water dogs

  • She is so cute and looks a lot like my Iggy - but my girl can't swim; she tried jumping in the pool a few times to join us and started to sink like a stone! Well not really, she was more just floundering, but there was no question if we hadn't immediately gotten her out it wouldn't have been good. She's almost totally blind now at ten yrs old so obviously we don't let her in the pool area anymore. This is so adorable though. They are such funny creatures.

  • the TAIL!

  • @missbrown61 yeaaa i guess

  • Oh , that so cute !

  • Did your IG naturally learn how to swim?

  • its december 31 and your swimming

  • It cracks me up that she wags her tail while swimming.
