Here is an easy way to create grooves using Reason 4.0 using the loop feature. I am primarily a guitar player so excuse my keyboard skills (or lack of ; ) Once you create a pattern like this, you can create different ones and then begin to piece a song together. I LOVE Reason!

  • one thing i wish is that reason had a tap feature for the tempo,

  • That would be nice, maybe it will be in 5.0

  • this is GREAT! i couldn't figure out how to use Reason so this has definetly been favorited! great grooves man!

can you use this inside Cubase?

  • Glat it helped. Reason uses ReWire, which allows it to synch with Cubase (but not the LE4 version, either the earlies LE version OR version 4 Studio, Essesntials, or the full version. I think SX also has ReWire. You need to go into Cubase, and click on the ReWire option, you can synch either the 2 master channels or individual channels, up to 8. Good luck.

  • if reason had an FW audio interface multi-tracking capabilities, i'd buy it.

  • It is definitely not for tracking audio. BUT - programs like Cubaser have re-wire, which allows the two programs to work together, so when you hit play on one, it automativcally synchs to the tempo and starts the other. I have used this quite a bit and add audio using R4 as my drum / background.
