This is a time lapse of a four day period in February 2005 when the retractable roof of the University of Phoenix Stadium (then Cardinals Stadium) was lifted into place. The roof was built at ground level, then slowly hoisted up by motors at the top of each of four "super columns." Four different digital time lapse cameras shot one frame a minute during the lift. The stadium officially opened for the 2006 season of the Arizona Cardinals football club. This time lapse was featured on the Discovery Channel's "Extreme Engineering" in 2005 and shown on most local (Phoenix) news channels.
