Every morning and evening the streets of Ghana's capital city Accra are filled with cars. Sometimes one would have to stay in this traffic for hours before getting to his or her destination.

The situation is so bad that after a hard days work, people who travel by public transport have to stand in long cues waiting for trotros (minibus taxis) stuck in traffic. Africanews.com finds out more about this and asks people about possible solution.

  • @vallzyful Come on, roads wont do it. What can absorb the lot of people that is an efficient public transportation. I am not talking trotro (an improvement here too would be needed!), but trains, metro, bus-lanes for public transportation ONLY. How come the Ghanaian Gvt did not add bike lanes to the newly constructed Nkrumah Motorway? It is about getting people to choose other modes of transportation than cars. More roads = more cars => 10 years later we are back to square one.

  • @Physicspilot that is a pretty low estimate ;)

  • znznb please visit from Ghana!!

  • I say introduce emission tests and I guarantee that 98% of those cars/trucks will wipe out!

  • I hate traffic too, but I like how everyone is concerned about school and work... productivity.
