the point of that story is to show what the author mellville went through, he was huge, known, and loved for what he did(writing) when he wrote moby dick that turned people agent him and people wanted back his old stuff but he didnt want to do that anymore so that ended his career and his fame

i commend the effort, guys, but whoever did the narration needs to work on his diction. i've studied this story extensively, and i still have a hard time understanding the narration.
