Thanks for this vid, great explanation on how the Fader ND works. BTW, I love the black background and the lighting for the speaking segments! I'm gonna have to steal that, hehehe.

I've been using a Fader ND for a couple of years now and love being able to shoot wide open at f1.4 even in bright sunshine. Great video - very informative and easy to understand for any people starting out.

This was awesome and really helped me understand and make up my mind about buying a fader ND filter. Thank you! Definitely will subscribe to your further videos.

Hi mate, great vid, would I be able, if I buy a 77mm fade... use it wit a 52mm lens aswell with a downadapter? thanks
I did not understand completely why the need to lock the shutter speed when shooting at 24 frames per second
You can expand on that?

@skayalalal Because if you set it faster your video will begin to look vary sharp and choppy. This is "ok" but you will lose that beautiful film look. Do some tests to see it for yourself. Shoot someone running at 1/50th than shoot the same thing at a faster shutter speed... the results will help you see why you want to use 1/50. But keep in mind sometimes we like faster shutter speeds. Just watch Saving Private Ryan, you will notice the actions scenes have this choppy look which works.
