Consolation Heat Bartholomew County IN Demo Derby 7-10-2010

Pretty bad shape going in. Frame + fender bent in and broke off passenger side manifold (that was upside down) falling on the battery cable and starter wire. I heard it trying to start the the wires caught on fire then battery started sparking. This is the reason for the second red flag. Earlier in this heat, a bumper came through the driver's side window hitting me in the back of the head, making me a tad disoriented. I sold the car the next morning for a guy to run in JC but he said the frame was in too bad of shape. Bear with the commentary.

4th time doing this, 1st time in 8 years. 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood I was given in 2004. Plans were to fix it up but the rust was a bit much so... I destroyed it. This is heat one of the Bartholomew County Indiana Demo Derby 7-10-2010.

The frame was notched. Dash and seat bars welded in. 425ci with driver side header and pass side manifold up-side down. Front bumper from an '80's Buick wagon.

There is an endless list of things I could have done different, such as better tires, higher front bumper, cut the hood different, posi as opposed to lmt. slip (little hard to get traction till the other wheel kicks in), big block took up allot of room, etc, etc, but I didn't. This thing was a bear to strip, there was allot of crap in this thing. Not too much money but allot of time in this. I did have fun! and that is what I did it for.
