I got my blue/silver/black Cabrio around the time your questions were raised.
14 months between reservation & delivery.
With tax & fees, cost a little over $20K to drive it off the lot. The car's most valid criticism is probably that it is too expensive for what you get.
But I've never had so much fun with any other car!! It's fun to drive. The reaction from other people is a hoot!
Sacrifice? My last car's back seat was rarely used, got 15 MPG worse, and was boring to drive. Sacrifice???

Woah!I drive a corolla that gives me about 33mpg & this "smart car" gives you only 36.I'm all into fuel economy & I think that car manufacturers aren't doing enough to make fuel efficient cars.For example,the 1990 HondaCRX gives you 47 mpg.How come we haven't moved forward in the last 18ys?It's not worth it to get this two-seater munchkin & have to pay for the price difference to save 3mpg.I'm glad you drive a hybrid but this particular car is not worth it just yet.

Smart car themselves says it gets 41 MPG. Thats probably being generous. Thats 2008 standards BTW. I'll stick with my Honda Civic with 36 MPG on regular fuel. 56 MPG BULLSHIT!! My motorcycle barely gets that. Your car weighs over 1800 lbs and only has 70 HP! My bike has 80 HP and weighs 750 lbs.

Where did 40mpg come from????... I own a Smart car and it regularly gets 56 mpg and is capable of 70mpg.. You guys with negative things to say about it on hearsay are laughable! Get you facts straight before posting crap online!! It has a 4 star safety rating with the incredible tridian safety cell... It is a high quality mini Mercedes.
