@wakenbake005 ..and who is this "they" you are refering to? I have never heard that before and I have built countless 460s. "They", as in Ford fans, do say the 68-71 460s are the best due to their higher compression ratios and good breathing heads. A Lincoln 460 of that era has 365hp and over 500ft.lbs. of torque from the factory. With a little tweeking you can have a 400hp 550ft.lb. monster for very little money.

I'm slapping a Borg Warner S475 on my 460 with a mild cam and about a 114 lobe seperation. Then its getting stuffed into my 68 galaxie.
Big block ford, in a big ford car with about 600 hp and 700 + torque.
THUMBS UP IF YOU LIKE!

I'm used to working on big diesels and any gas motor even big blocks look amazingly small to me.

Hi. I just went to the junkyard and got a bellhousing for a 351/400M FMX transmission, and bolted it up. I use just the flywheel, no torque convertor needed. Cost $35.00 at the boneyard. Thanks.
