  • If there was a Mt. Rushmore of American Pop and only room for a very few select faces Gene Clark would be just about my very top vote.

  • Gene Clark is deep man - and that is rare

  • gene, i live for your song only.

  • Fantastic...thank you for posting this

  • My number one song of all time !!! I feel like he is singing right to me, he is like a life line to me. Put your head on my shoulder, who ever sang it this way before. I just love Gene and his music, what a priceless gift !!!

  • I agree. I have followed Gene's music since 1965 when I bought the first Byrd's LP as a GI. Listen to Freedom Walk, my brothers. The man was prophetic as well as deep. His music gave so much.

  • I think it was Chris Hillman who said something like it was incredible the way Gene was able to write so many good songs. Songs of such depth and clarity with such poetic impact -even though he was not a seemingly well-educated person, he was just in touch with something truly universal and deep when he wrote a song.

  • What a talent! Without Gene, as we all came to find out, the Byrds were just another band from the 60's. But that First Byrds album still ranks in my top 5 of all time.........

  • Truly moving.

  • With apologies to Gram Parons fans - he was never anything more than a pretty face in a loud shirt imitating THIS guy.Gene Clark was the real deal.It is an absurdity that Parsons is more well known than Clark. But that won't last forever.Clark's body of work will not be denied by music history. When the pictures fade and smart folks go looking for the great MUSIC they'll find Clark. The future will be very good to Gene Clark.
