  • What kind of supplements can you take for arthritis in the big toe. Thanks.

  • @malli69

Supplements for big toe joint arthritis probably won't help since the joint receives a high degree of mechanical stress, more than the knee or hip. Glucosamine/chondroitin are the typical supplements many people use for joint health in general- their effectiveness is debated but many people swear by them regardless. Ask your doctor if these are appropriate for you.

  • I'm 27 and walk to work everyday (about 45 minutes combined walking), and the last few months my right big toe has felt a little weird, kind of like it needs to be cracked but can't, and I never cracked my toes before and I'm afraid of breaking my toe. It doesn't really hurt or feel stiff, just feels like it needs to be cracked in certain positions. Does that sound like arthritis? Or do I just need someone with strong hands to crack my toe?

Many conditions can cause this sensation, from arthritis to restricted tendons, and even damaged ligaments. Your should have this assessed as it could lead to long term problems.

  • I do taekwondo and everytime i "roundhouse" kick during sparring it hurts so very badly and im forced to hide my pain. Also when i compare my ingured toe joint to the other, i notice a little bit of swelling compared to the other which has no pain. Im not sure whats my problem because nothing hurts when i walk, ANY ADVISE ????

My advise is to see a foot specialist for treatment and stop trying to simply live with it. You could be doing long term damage by delaying treatment.
