I think I know exactly what you mean... you mean pulling lightly until the bar is firm up against the plates and THEN breaking the bar from the floor. The way I do it, the bar kind of "rattles" when it hits the plates, which causes a bit of bounceback. Is that it? Thanks for the comments :-)

lol dude i feel your pain at training at a commericial gym it freakin sucks no one has any intensity and they play lame as music lol

I'm lucky enough to train at a commercial gym where they let me do cleans and use chalk, so I can't complain too much :-)
