Livedrive (http://www.livedrive.com/ ) - an award winning online storage service - have come up with a revolutionary new way to store digital data using barcodes printed on paper. In a new facility in London, Livedrive are storing over 8 petabytes of data on 4 billion sheets of A2 paper.

  • Actually,it would be really nice to store small amounts of data on a sheet of paper that could then be scanned and restored back to it's binary original. Since many compression techniques for lossy media can compress the original bit to a fraction of it's original, it's possible such data as binary black and white dots on a piece of paper. Though this video is a joke, how nice would it be to be able to hand a friend a sheet of paper that contained a photo or audio file, rather than a thumbdrive
