Aggressive Swedish feudals wanted to benefit from Russia's weakness after the Mongol invasion and to capture Russia's access to the Baltic. The young Novgorodian prince Alexander Nevsky met them on the shores of the Neva River and inflicted a heavy defeat on them.

Why does it say "Swedish feudals"? Unlike Russia/Novgorod/Moscow, Sweden has never been a feudal society.
