Neo's path set the stage for the liberation of all who want to be free of the Matrix. It was irrelevant how long the Truce lasted. The Truce served its function: to allow Zion to strengthen its city and forces and weaken machine control of the System.

well I´m sure the five prior neos before him made their share too, but if humans alone can not coexist, then what makes you think humans and machines can, brother I just stand to what morpheus once said: "as long as the matrix exists, human race will never be free"

The goal that the humans hope for is to free humanity from the Matrix and possibly co exist with the machines once again. It is believed that since there is a truce with humans and machines the machines will agree to free people from the Matrix and co exist with humans peacefully. Oh and when you said Neo had not accomplished anything had you thought of the lives saved from the machine attack at Zion. That is definitely something.

So they can keep fighting forever,,, man neo was spetial for only one reason, he was the first "one" to oposse the puppet possition of the "one" entity as a annormal system of contol made by the machines, that´s all, he made the unique choise machines couldnt manage in an hostile situation such as the "smith bussines", but in the end, the shit end up the same way, 90% of humans are still slaves because they don't even know the truth, THEY ARE UNABLE TO SEE, only alternative:To Kill the MATRIX.
