This was built with 'stuff' I had laying around and it works great!

  • Love the idea!

I know you posted this a while ago but it would be cool to see it in action.

Thanks! It works great, what would you like to see? I can turn it on and film it getting rid of dust? Have you looked at my blog? There is a lot more info there, let me know if you have any questions about his! - Otto

  • @okkrom Thanks! Maybe I'll make a video and show it sucking up the dust! - Otto

  • Very good idea, I have heard one can use an air conditioner fan but have not seen this used in a shop.

    Thank you.

I haven't seen anyone use an AC fan but I'm sure it could work. The nice thing about using a blower motor is the dust is only going through the blower and not the motor. With a fan the fan blade is usually mounted right on the motor shaft and all the dust has to pass over / under / around the motor. If it's not a sealed motor the dust goes into the motor and can mess it up. Also blowers are much better working against back pressure compared to fans. - Otto
