The Mews Ring were a set of 6 flowerpots hung as a mini-ring. They have now been dismantled and this was the last ring on them in Jan 2005. The frame sat over the loft trap and therefore the "ringing room" was on the landing at the top of the stairs. The rope circle was just less than 40cm diameter.

  • how much does each bell cost to make?

  • Not sure, these were made over a period of several years with several improvements along the way. I would imagine reasonably cheap though have never really added it all up. Materials would probably be less than £20 each but its also a large time ellement...

  • how do you get them to make the right note, surely you don't tune them??

  • Fortuntely these were all maiden "throwings" (after much tapping at garden centres) but you can tune them, same as a normal bell......
