Welcome to Brazil!
The place where you pay too much for almost nothing!
It's really expensive, the taxes for those products reach something like 50% of the "final price" of that stuff.
If you KNOW for a FACT you are in a foreign country whose official language is Brazilian Portuguese, what are you doing trying to communicate in a language they can't understand?!?!?
The least you coulda/shoulda/woulda/ done is learn a few basic phrases to get your message across.
That right there to me is PLAIN IGNORANCE!!

@FashionRawkz Oh shut up already. I have put up with people who can't speak English and are here illegally trying to make money. That's annoying. But when they are just tourist its sweet to me when they are trying to communicate about something simple. I was just traveling and wasn't some loser sneaking in their country. I go because that's where my wife is from. IF I HAD SOME F-ing TIME to learn the language I would. But I work about 80 hours per week. ..SO SHUT UP DO you work 16 hours a day.

You are kidding right? Brazil real = 0.432526 U.S. dollars... Those price don't look too out of line to me.

It doesn't matter about the exchange rate. Brazilians don't have American dollars. Also when I was there the exchange was $1.90 real for every American Dollar. Peanut butter cost $22.00 real. A can of pringels potato chips cost $10.00 real. Go to the country yourself and ask the people.
