Located in the historic garden district of New Orleans. Legend has it that the seven nearly identical shotgun houses occupying the 2300 block of Coliseum Street were built for seven sisters. In fact they were the first speculation houses in the city, and some of the first in the United States. Though renovations have blurred the family resemblance, the homes are structurally distinguished only by the front galleries: some are Greek Revival, some Italianate.

  • Trust me, after living in one, make sure it has been remodeled, so that you needn't walk through all the rooms just to get to the next one. Make sure it has a hallway instead.
