Here's a simple solution for busy singles that want to stop themselves from eating out all the time, and start eating healthy on a regular basis. Using this simple system, you'll do less work, eat better, and spend less than you would on fast food.

If you like the concepts presented in The Four Hour Workweek, then this is perfect for you. Credit also goes to my friend Dan Rose from http://www.sixpackshortcuts.com for giving me the idea to get the takeout containers from my local restaurant supply store.

If you're curious, they cost under $50 for 150 units (including the lids), so that's less than 30 cents per container, and you can re-use them again and again.

I hope you enjoy giving this a try. It's working for me, and I believe it can work for you too.

  • Thanks for the reply on that. Any recommendations on what to look for when searching for someone to cook the meals?

  • @dwloyd - They should be experienced, they should be the one initiating and asking you what you like, and then making suggestions of what they can make based on that. If you have to do all the initiating, it's going to be too much work. Place the ad on Craigslist under Gigs/Domestic and let replies come in for a couple days before you start replying to them. Look for the ones that seem driven to make you happy.

  • Pretty clever idea. Thank you for making the video.

With regards to cooking, does the cook make several big dishes and then you split them up. Or does she split them up for you and put them in the containers?

  • @dwloyd - The cook splits them up for me. I tried it the other way, but I found that I prefer to have the meal completely ready for me so I can just heat it up.

  • Where did you Get the tupperware

  • @Thecatz1 - Any restaurant supply store in your area. They might tell you that you need a tax ID number to shop there, but that's usually not true. Just get a guest pass and they'll let you shop.

  • Hey man it's Dan from sixpackshortcuts...congrats on deciding to get your diet on point like this!

These meals are all look delicious too, and they're great nutritionally...I think that I will try these in my meals next week. And really good explanation of how the system keeps you consistent by being so easy and convenient....great explanation of how to outsource the meals and get the disposable tupperwares too.

    Thanks for posting this up!

  • @shitthrowingmonkey1 - Not when you get 70 meals out of it and divide the total cost by the amount of meals you get. Mine came out to 5.71 per meal, and the food was healthier than the typical preservative-packed foods that restaurants serve.
