@anglo1saxon3 there is not yet a clear and popular consensus on this issue. The closest thing is the occupy protests. There are also a great many who believe in the government still, as ridiculous as that may be.

Another large factor, is that the government itself is using its surveillance and "security" apparatus to monitor and redirect dissent, as well. They set up fake political groups, inflitrate existing ones, and divert discontent from being directed effectively.
