Spectre VR

An awesome vector-drawn tank game. There's a lot of QuickTime videos that I didn't include as they crash the emulator and make the game seem tacky. It's impressive that they were able to embed video into a game so old, especially on in-game surfaces, but the acting is horrible.

@MindstormXL As a kid, the sound they made terrified me. Also hated how you couldn't hide from them under the Matrix.

I forgot how much the music got to me. And how the enemies would gang up on you when you first drop in... nice colors, clean look, way ahead of it's time!

This game was one of my favorite games to play on my imac back in 2003 ish. I went to mac gardens and got a copy of it on my mac and would spend 3 to 4 hours a night playing this game along with spectre supreme which came out in 1994. On my family's old mac I played the original spectre game called spectre classic and loved every minute of it!

The game play is more important than the videos as they only add to the story line. Some videos were played on the large walls which gave a different look to the level. A heads up video would appear at the beginning of the level to introduce last minute changes (more robots, scatter/seeker shots, sticky mud) Another video would sometimes play immediately after you lost a life. The other video was played on the end level tally screen, the lady would laugh at you for doing badly :)

About damn time we get a decent vid of the Mac Spectre VR on YouTube. Great stuff. (The version I have on the emulators doesn't play the videos anyway, guess I'm not really missing out).
